Secret Gardens: Painting Masterpieces from the Sgarbi Collection
The rich and complex art collection owned by the historical art critic Vittorio Sgarbi is considered one of the most important in private hands.
The 41 extraordinary artists in the exhibition trace a tour of the Italian painting from the 15th to the 18th century, from the delicacy of the early Renaissance to the exuberance of Mannerism and the intensity of naturalistic realism late Baroque. The careful selection of masterpieces displays unavoidable references of the western art history.
The artists are among others: Lorenzo Lotto, Titian, Guercino, Verones, Artemisia Gentileschi, José de Ribera, Sassoferrato or Giambattista Piazzetta the Cavalier d’Arpino, Nicola Malinconico, Stella.
